Jack Himschoot or “Cracker Jack” came to Pine Island from Ft. Myers as a little boy to help out his uncle's run their coconut farm. His Grandfather had arrived on the island from Czechoslovakia in 1917 to farm Mangos and Avocados. His grandparents raised nine children here in Bokeelia.

Jack later married and settled in Bokeelia in 1968. He and his wife have raised 4 children here. Besides running a Palm farm, with a tractor, back hoe, and dump truck, Jack has been operating airboats out of Bokeelia since 1970. He's familiar with every inch of the water surrounding Pine Island . He has a passion for sharing his knowledge on the history of Pine Island , not to mention his love of the water and the sport of fishing. He may even share with you his favorite fishing holes. You can read all about his family in the book, “The Forgotten Island” by Elaine Blumm.

His tours will leave you with a real sense of the way things used to be and an appreciation for the abundant nature that is all around you on the island. He thanks the Lord each day for the opportunity to share his love for this island that he calls home with those who come to visit. This is one experience you don't want to miss.
